Michelle Singletary’s column in today’s Washington Post argues that somehow is “only fair” that those who use credit cards responsibly be prepared (and accept) the notion that we should pay higher fees now that Obama is about to sign “credit card reform” legislation.

What a crock.

Lets get this straight:

No one forces anyone to own a credit card;

No one forces anyone to use a credit card if owned;

No one force anyone to use a credit card withoug reading the terms of engagement.

Yes, terms are onerous (just like PayDay loans for some.)

If you don’t like the terms start your own darn credit card company. Compete in the market place. Let’s see if you are willing to put your capital on the line. Doubtful.

No, can’t have that, can we. The government has to step in and say to yet another business that “we are going to tell you how to run your business.” Aren’t these the same businesses (banks) that we just got finished bailing out??

There is no doubt that this new government intervention is bound to

(1) make it even harder for some to get a credit card (probably a good thing, see no.’s 1, 2 and 3, above’

(2) increase the cost to those who responsibly use them.

One more example of Obama’s wealth distrubution scheme. Its massive and its harmful to the entire economy.

Ok, so I stood in a long line to have my picture taken with Ivanka Trump. Laugh if you will. The Glazer-Kennedy Super Conference 2009 was terrific. I’ll be sharing a bunch of stuff with my Northern Virginia Glazer Kennedy group in May but more importantly, I’ve got such a large list of things to do I’m hiring again.

The biggest “complaint” I heard after our Jump Start Legal Marketing Conference last a few weekends ago was, “Ben, you’ve given us so much to do….so many ideas….how will I ever get it all done?”

Today’s Washington Post headline blasts the news that 600,000 more people lost jobs in January. The
Wall Street Journal has a picture of a roomful of white collar workers in a hotel room in McLean, Virginia,
waiting for a job interview.

There has never been a better time in most of our lifetimes to find highly qualified people who are ready, willing and able to help you keep moving. If you are standing still, waiting to be “rescued” from
this recession, you are a fool.

Keep moving.

I came back from my ownconference (the only legal conference, of any sort, that is selling out all of its events) so revved up with ideas I could hardly think. I immediately went on the search to find the quality folks I needed to “get things done.” I’m not sitting still, waiting for rescue.

I hired three new people this week.

Great, smart people. Tired of the corporate world. Looking to use THEIR GIFTS and TALENTS in a
productive way. Not waiting for a bailout.

What are you waiting for?
